Before we start with the registration steps, note that Great-West Life (GWL) is now called Canada Life. If you have a policy with GWL, this article applies to you. If your League benefits include coverage under a Canada Life Group Insurance policy, you must register with Canada Life’s GroupNet portal in order to submit claims for your Canada Life benefits.
Requirements To Register For Canada Life GroupNet
All you need is:
- Your name as it appears on your plan documents
- Your plan or policy number
- Your member ID or certificate number
How To Register For Canada Life GroupNet
If you already have a GroupNet, GRS Access or My Canada Life at Work account, you don’t need to register. Just use your existing sign-in info. If you don’t have an account yet, register now following the steps below.
Step 1: To Register For Canada Life GroupNet please go to https://my.canadalife.com/MyRegistration?lang=en_CA on a computer web browser (not your mobile device) to go to the GroupNet registration page shown below. Enter your preferred email address, which will be used in the future to login to your GroupNet account.
Step 2: Enter a password of your choice, and then continue to scroll down on the page.
Step 3: Enter your legal first name and last name.
Step 4: Provide a recovery email address if you wish, and then click “Submit Registration”.
Step 5: Canada Life will send you a verification email to the email address you provided in step 1. The email should arrive in your inbox within 2-3 minutes. If you’re having trouble finding the email, please check your Junk, Spam, and Clutter folders. Step 6: Once you find and open the verification email, click the link inside to go to the GroupNet login page below. Enter the email address and password you created in steps 1 and 2.
Step 7: Click “Sign In”.
Step 8. You’ll see the page, where you enter final information to activate your GroupNet account. Enter your legal first name, last name, date of birth, and postal code.
Step 9: Enter your Plan number and Member ID. To find this information, go to the “Wallet” tab in your League account, and tap any of your Canada Life benefits, such as your drug, dental, or paramedical card.
Step 10. Click “Continue”.
Success! You have now successfully created your Canada Life GroupNet profile.
Canada Life GroupNet Registration FAQ
1: What is a plan number and member ID? They’re your identifiers for your health benefits that you get through your employer. You can find them on your health benefits card. Your plan number is usually up to 6 digits, and is entirely numerical. Your member ID is up to 10 characters and can include letters. If you don’t have a benefits card, call them for help at 1-888-222-0775.
2: What is plan/policy number and certificate number? They’re your identifiers for savings and pension plans that you get through your employer. You’ll find your plan/policy and certificate numbers on your mailed statements, on the second page, under key information. If you don’t have a mailed statement, call them for help at 1-888-222-0775.
3: How can I confirm my Email address? Go to the inbox of the email address you provided when you registered. Look for an email sent from Canada Life with the subject line Confirm your email address. Can’t find it? Check your spam folder or resend the email.
4: What is 2-step verification? It’s extra security for your account. When it’s on, each time you sign in, you’ll enter your email address and password as usual. But you’ll also be asked to enter a 5-digit code that we’ll send to you by email. We’ll also send you a code to enter each time you change your password. This way, no one will be able to access your account without the code.
