TWC Unemployment Login: How To Manage Your Benefits Online

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is a governmental agency in the U.S. state of Texas that provides unemployment benefits and services related to employment to eligible individuals and businesses. How To Create Your TWC Online Account

You can access any of the TWC Unemployment Benefit Services online systems only when you have a user ID and a password. If you do not have a User ID for a TWC Internet application, Select Sign up for User ID from the Quick Links menu on the TWC Unemployment Login page. You will then need to enter your Social Security Number and Tele-Serv PIN to complete the set up.

Steps to create your User ID and a Password;

  • Go to https://apps.twc.state.tx.us/UBS/selfRegister.do
  • Personal Information: Enter your personal information. i.e.. your first name, middle name, last name and your email address
  • Logon Information: Enter the User ID and password that you want to use. If you already have a User ID for another TWC Internet application, such as WorkInTexas.com, try logging on with that ID. Passwords are case sensitive. Do not tell anyone your password.
  • Security Information: The security questions and answers will help identify you if you forget your password. Select your questions and enter answers that others can’t guess. The security answers are case sensitive.

After entering the in formation above then click on “Next” button to complete the registration.

Note: Your User ID and password protect your identity and privacy. No one can submit a payment request or get your claim information online without using your personal User ID and password. Your password has the same legal authority as your signature on a paper document. Do not give your password to anyone, even to a family member or a TWC employee. TWC Unemployment Login Steps

TWC’s online Unemployment Benefits Service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at ui.texasworkforce.org.

You need a TWC Internet User ID and password to use Unemployment Benefits Services. If you already have a User ID for another TWC Internet application, such as WorkInTexas.com, follow the steps below to log on with that User ID and password. You will then need to enter your Social Security Number and Tele-Serv Personal Identification Number (PIN) to complete the set up.

To log in your TWC Unemployment claimant account kindly go to https://apps.twc.state.tx.us/UBS/security/logon.do and enter your claimant username and password.

If you enter the wrong User ID or Password twice on the same day, you’ll be taken to the Forgot Password page. If you enter the wrong User ID or Password three times on the same day, you will not be able to try again, and will need to follow the instructions that will be provided to reset your Password before you can logon.

Your Password will need to be changed periodically – every 180 days (approximately 6 months). If your Password is expired, you’ll be taken to the Change Password page. You can access the application as soon as you change your Password.

If you forget your password or User ID, the TWC Unemployment Login page has quick links for you to retrieve your User ID or reset your password. To reset your password, you will need to answer security questions that you set up when you created your User ID. Keep your answers to the security questions private, just like your password.

Applying for TWC Unemployment Benefits

When to Apply: Apply for benefits as soon as you are unemployed because your claim starts the week you complete the application. However, you may not apply until after your last work day. We cannot pay benefits for weeks before your claim effective date. The effective date is the Sunday of the week in which you apply.

Apply for benefits with the state where you worked during your base period. If you worked in more than one state, see If You Earned Wages in More than One State. If your last job was for a temporary agency or staff leasing company, you have additional requirements: If your last job was for a temporary agency, you must immediately contact the temporary agency for a new assignment and wait three business days after your assignment ended before applying for benefits.

The agency has three business days to offer you a new assignment. If your last job was for a staff leasing company, you must immediately contact the staff leasing company for a new assignment.

How to Apply Apply for benefits in one of two ways: Apply online at Unemployment Benefit Services by selecting Apply for Benefits. For help applying online. Call a Tele-Center at 800-939-6631 and speak to a customer service representative.

Information You Need to Apply: You will need:

  • Your last employer’s business name,
  • Address and phone number First and last dates (month, day and year) you worked for your last employer. If you worked for your last employer on more than one occasion, provide the most recent employment dates.
  • Number of hours worked and pay rate if you worked the week you apply for benefits (Sunday through Saturday)
  • Information about the normal wage for the job you are seeking Alien Registration number (if not a U.S. citizen)
  • A valid Texas Driver License number or Texas Identification Card number
  • Your Unemployment Benefit Services Password When you sign up for online services, you will select a User ID and password.

Establish & Change Payment Options When you apply for benefits, TWC offers you one of two ways to get your benefit payments: Direct deposit, which is direct payment into your personal checking or savings account in a United States bank or credit union Debit card, which is issued by the TWC-contracted bank TWC will deposit payments to the TWC debit card account unless you sign up for direct deposit.

If you signed up for direct deposit on a prior claim, TWC will use the checking or savings account information you previously provided.

To select or change your payment option online or by phone: Log on to ui.texasworkforce.org and select Payment Option from the Quick Links menu. Call Tele-Serv at 800-558-8321 and select option 5.

Requesting A Payment

You should request benefit payment every two weeks on your scheduled day. When you apply for benefits, TWC sends you instructions on requesting payment

Don’t wait for TWC to notify you of your eligibility. Make sure to request payment on the date listed in the instructions they sent you. If you cannot complete your payment request because of high call or user volume, you will need to call in and speak to a representative. If you delay requesting payment or cannot get through to TWC to complete your request, it will not affect your eligibility for benefits. However, it may delay when you receive your payment. Please be patient.

You must request payment to receive benefits. Request benefit payment as instructed, approximately one to two weeks after you apply for benefits, and every two weeks after that. You can find the date you are scheduled to request payment online using TWC’s Unemployment Benefits Services or by calling Tele-Serv at 800-558-8321. If you do not request payment within the calendar week your request is due, your payment may be delayed or denied.

When requesting payment, you will answer several questions regarding your work and earnings and whether you met eligibility requirements during the claim period. You must then certify that your responses are true and complete. If you work during a benefit payment period, report your gross earnings as part of your payment request. You can request benefit payments online or by phone:

1: Online: 24 hours a day using Unemployment Benefits Services at ui.texasworkforce.org. Select Request a Payment. You will need a User ID and password. Use the same User ID and password that you use for WorkInTexas.com.

2: Phone: Tele-Serv, our automated telephone system, at 800-558-8321. Select Option 1. You will need your Social Security number and the four-digit PIN you created when you first applied for benefits.

Checking Claim & Payment Status

To check your claim status or confirm your payment:

  • Log on to Unemployment Benefits Services. Select Claim and Payment Status. Scroll down to Most Recent Payment heading to see the TWC Processed Date and the Amount Deposited.
  • Alternatively, Call Tele-Serv at 800-558-8321 and select Option 2.
  • If you receive payment by direct deposit, call your bank or credit union or log on to their web site.
  • If you receive payment by debit card, log on to www.usbankreliacard.com, or call ReliaCard customer service at 800-657-6343.

Receive automatic notice of deposits by signing up for text or email alerts with U.S. Bank. Register at www.usbankreliacard.com or call ReliaCard customer service at 800-657-6343.
